Spectacular Mountainside Home With Heated Lap Pool [Video]

Vail, Colorado, a luxury ski destination in North America, is the setting for this exquisite modern estate. Apogee House is listed by Sotheby’s as a one of a kind residence, a personal ski retreat located on Vail Mountain with easy access to the amenities of Vail Village. The house also boasts its own 75-foot long heated lap pool, which has a stunning suspended glass bottom design and exceptional Gore Range views. There are more than 6,500 square feet of outdoor heated decks spread across different levels. Inside of the private holiday home there are 6 bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms, 2 half baths, a spa with a waterfall, and a freestanding elevator with a glass ceiling.

The mountainside home beds into the steep slope, surrounded by beautiful woodland.

The snow white plane of the modern exterior stands out crisply in its green location. Large terraces overhang the landscape.

The vast majority of walls are glass, opening the home up to the mountain views.

Sliding glass walls seamlessly flow living areas into the exterior decks, extensive patios and gardens.

The glass bottom pool design provides a spectacle to the lower decks.

A modern outdoor fireplace burns beneath the suspended pool, giving heat to a vantage point of the woodland.

The lap pool glows blue, like a great animated ceiling.

Moving inside of the home, only the finest materials and technology will do. Some special features of the house include a biometric recognition entry and a freestanding elevator with glass ceiling.

The luxurious living room is a comfortable and cosy layout of different sitting areas. One large L-shaped sofa pulls up close to a roaring fireplace and a huge TV.

Another L-shaped grey sofa swings by the view, along with two stylish modern armchairs.

A tall glass coffee table means that this smaller lounge area could also double as a casual eating spot, although the formal dining area is just a couple of metres away.

The kitchen fills the final corner of the room. Chic glossy marble flooring flows seamlessly through the entire open plan room.

This unconventional piece is by Czech artist Adam Jilek. The artwork is propped carefully on a minimalist bench seat, which pulls together perfectly with stark black retractable door frames.

The U-shaped kitchen has a marble breakfast bar at its heart, which is attached to the kitchen island. Black granite countertops run around the perimeter of the room in dark contrast.

In the bedroom, a creamy bedstead matches pristinely with end of bed seating. A white marble fireplace climbs behind a freestanding black hearth design. Clerestory windows give the bedroom a fantastically light and airy appeal that feels close to nature.

The bedroom opens out onto its very own terrace seating area.

Luxury abounds in the bathroom, where bookmatched marble slabs push along an extensive wall. Custom cut glass builds a crystal clear enclosure so that even the shower has an enviable view.

Shelves emerge from the marble wall beside the bathtub. A wood slatted panel warms this area of the layout, where a sliver of mirror in the corner makes the room appear as though it goes on and on. The vanity shelf cuts deep into the window sill, cantilevered over its edge. This situation of the countertop creates a playful impression that it was effortlessly cut and flipped down out of the window reveal itself.

The grey veined white marble looks just like the snowy rock face beyond the window panes. Chrome fixtures blend easily with the grey accents.

In another bathroom scheme, a water droplet-style faucet pools into a unique bathroom sink.

The snug is a toasty room with a long linear modern fireplace. A bar looks outward toward the panorama.

There is a private spa on the property, which comes alive with an enchanting indoor waterfall wall.

Great slabs of black marble bridge the pools.

The property also offers a four car garage, four covered parking spaces and a car rinse.

Out on the pool deck, chic outdoor sofas and an outdoor coffee table make up an inviting open air lounge.

Modern outdoor chairs cosy up on a rug by a sleek exterior fireplace.

Clear glass balustrades open the home and the balconies up to the skyscape.

There is complete privacy around the swimming pool, with the only close neighbours being the treetops.

From the pool terrace it is possible to see down to the lower floor of the property via glass screens.

Retractable covers protect the pool.

You cannot put a price on that view!

A modern sculpture adds to the upmarket ambience at the home entry. Exterior lighting builds atmosphere.

A paved driveway snakes down to the four car parking garage, past attractively planted and lit borders.

The entrance of the home is impressive and intriguing. Layered volumes jostle across the face of the building, tall vertical dimensions counterbalanced with outstretched horizontal slabs. Metal fins streak down huge expanses of glass, communicating strength and discretion.

The mountaintop reaches into the blue sky directly behind the house, as though crowning the superb plot.

Snowy peaks streak through the surrounding trees.

The green bordered driveway sweeps down from the main road, drawn in by the lilac glow over garage doors. The four other covered parking spaces are tucked away beneath the building.
