On the panel are Radical Innovation Award founder John Hardy, architect Danny Forster, Craft House Consulting founder Yvette Jong and WeLive head James Woods.
The panel will explore the ways in which sustainability, co-living and emerging technologies are changing the way hospitality spaces are designed.
Panellists will also discuss how the industry is responding to trends such as private members’ clubs, modular design and wellness.
The talk coincides with the reveal of the finalists for the Radical Innovation Award 2019, an annual hospitality awards programme founded by Hardy.
Now in its 13th year, the awards programme recognises boundary-pushing concepts for hospitality and travel design and accepts entries from both professionals and students.
The six finalists will present their design concepts at the Radical Innovation Award final in October 2019, where the winner will be chosen through an audience vote.
Last years’s award was given to Steve Lee of Aprilli Design Studio for his Autonomous Mobile Hotel concept, designed to transport travellers from their home to a destination in a self-driving hotel room on wheels.
Forster, principal of Danny Forster & Architecture, is one of the finalists competing for this year’s award, with his concept for a modular high rise hotel in Manhattan.
Jong is the founder and director of hospitality consulting agency Craft House Consulting and has worked on private member clubs such as The Wing in New York and The Conduit in London.
Woods is the head of WeLive, the co-living division of co-working brand WeWork.
Dezeen has hosted and streamed talks and panel discussions around the world. Recent examples include a talk with Italian architect Piero Lissoni about his designs for B&B Italia and Arthur Mamou Mani about his bioplastic installation for COS.
