Week 12 of Virtual Design Festival features the marathon Sports Day event hosted by Nelly Ben Hayoun, plus a Screentime interview with Patternity and live panel discussion with The Artling and OMA.

Today, designer and amateur boxer Ben Hayoun will take over VDF to host Sports Day – a live two-hour-long conversation bringing together designers and sports personalities to discuss the relationship between sport, the design industry and wider society.

Among the 11 participants tuning in for the event are designer Yinka Ilori, Google creative lab director Tea Uglow and Design Indaba‘s founder Ravi Naidoo.

This week’s Screentime interview sponsored by Philips TV & Sound will take place on Tuesday with Anna Murray, the co-founder and creative director of London creative studio Patternity.

There will be several launches over at the VDF products fair, including designs by Stellar Works, Eyra and Devon & Devon, while New Designers, University of Indonesia and Vilnius Academy of Arts are among the curators of this week’s school shows.

Closing off the week on Friday will be a live panel discussion with The Artling, an online art gallery with headquarters in Singapore, addressing how it helped to integrate art into OMA’s Potato Head Studios resort in Bali.

Joining the conversation will be platform’s founder Talenia Phua Gajardo, OMA‘s managing partner David Gianotten, creative director of Potato Head Group Dan Mitchell, and German artist Liina Klauss.
