June 11, 2023 Hadir Al Koshta 0

A house on the ground floor, at the border of the city of Piatra Neamt, offers an “everyday” experience stratified on several levels: contextual, morphological, visual and orientation/positioning on the plot; horizontal vertical; inside, outside. Located at the end of the street, behind the “State Reserves”, densely planted, the land has a natural slope and is divided into two portions with a steep difference in level, from the access side to the base. At the same time, orientation towards the sun and context was a factor in the final positioning of the house.

June 9, 2023 Hadir Al Koshta 0

The rural town of Moruleng is found along the slopes of the Mmammitlwa Mountains in the Northwest province of South Africa. It is the ancestral home of the Bakgatla-ba-Kgafela people. Through a conceptual spatial layering of histories, the precinct forces a complete rethink of the notion of the cultural museum. Numerous historical influences on the Bakgatla-ba-Kgafela community are at play in this space, from pre-colonial stone settlements and systems, to how Christianity and apartheid have affected this rural community, and also a future rich with possibility. The precinct talks to issues of localized identity in a global framework, as you move between age-old beliefs and traditions and present-day realities.

Palazzo dei Diamanti / Labics

June 9, 2023 Hadir Al Koshta 0

The project for the Palazzo dei Diamanti consists of an organic series of interventions aimed on the one hand at the restoration and enhancement of the sixteenth-century complex and on the other at the adaptation of the exhibition spaces and exteriors. The project is driven by the belief that architecture, unlike painting, sculpture, or other forms of art, is a living art that cannot only be contemplated in its beauty; an art which, in order to continue to exist, must be enjoyed and, if necessary, reinterpreted as it has always been in the history of architecture.

The pavilion is a symbolic monument to the cooperation of the 116 municipalities participating in the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture program. This is a tiny house building with a total floor area of 33 sqm. The house stands on a wedge-shaped site which is the remnant after the land acquisition for the railroad elevation work next to the site. The site area is less than 30 sqm. For more than three decades, the client has lived in a house built on the land before the subdivision, including the site and the road on the south side of the site. With a strong desire to stay in this place, he has decided to divide, sell more than half of the land, and rebuild his new house on the remnant.
