The LiveWorkShare House proposes a typology that enables sensitive densification of the Australian suburbs above latitude 30°S. It sits between the scale of a detached house and low-rise attached housing on a standard narrow block.  Addressing the post-Covid boom in working from home and the current housing crisis, it is comprised of a house, a small commercial office, and a self-contained flat – each with independent entries, privacy, and a strong connection to gardens.

Mississippi Workshop Building / Waechter Architecture

June 15, 2023 Hadir Al Koshta 0

Designed and developed by Waechter Architecture, the Mississippi Workshop is the result of over ten years of planning, modeling, and investigation. The building was conceived as a proving ground for sustainable building systems and “all-wood” construction technologies and equally, as a forum for new creative conversations. Located on a prominent site in Portland’s vibrant Mississippi Avenue district, the 9,550-square-foot building offers a new model for sustainable and sensitive infill development. In many ways, the Workshop is a 21st Century interpretation and upgrade of the classic industrial loft typology that offers a balance of character, flexibility, and timelessness.

Rising above Rotterdam’s iconic skyline with its distinctive design, De Cooltoren is a bold redevelopment of a post-second world war site that started V8 Architecture’s expertise in functional, aesthetic highrises with well-performing outdoor space in tall buildings. Located in In the Baan Quarter, just adjunct the city center and surrounding tall buildings. This area was long overlooked and allowed the area to develop into a lively residential area with many restaurants, bars, and galleries on and around the “famous” Witte de Withstraat.

The Greek mythology tells us the story of EOS – the goddess of the dawn. Every morning she rose to the horizon from the depths of the sea, in order to bring the light of the day to people. The project, named after the goddess, is situated at the front line in the Chaika neighborhood, in the marine capital of Bulgaria – Varna, with only the Sea Garden and the Black Sea located in front of it, ensuring that the building is the first one receiving sunlight.

Two Cabins Perched On Stilts / Cyril Chênebeau

June 13, 2023 Hadir Al Koshta 0

Our reflection first focused on the need to design a form of hut capable of adapting to the multiplicity of topographical and landscape situations found on this heavily wooded site, a kind of “ideal” hut. The result of this preliminary work and the in-depth analysis of the program and the specifications set by the contracting authority leads us to propose a project for a cabin with a slightly elongated unitary shape, a prism that is refined at both ends in order to slip between the trees.

School Campus DOS / SHIBUKAWA EDER Architects

The school is a simple, distinct, south-facing terraced building that steps down every two stories. There are spacious terraces on every second floor directly connected to the classrooms and recreation spaces with big windows. The terraced southern façade creates a landscape design together with the promenade and the outdoor playground on the ground floor. In contrast, the northern façade has smaller windows to avoid noise from the railway that runs along the north side of the site. By arranging the three gymnasiums parallel to the railway, a quiet and safe area for children and neighbors was created around the entrance halls and promenade on the south side.

House WADD / BASIL architecture

June 12, 2023 Hadir Al Koshta 0

The extension for this house located in the countryside of Aalter (Flanders) was conceived as a pavilion, connected as an appendix to the existing house. The very dark and closed rooms of the existing house are reduced to secondary functions such as storage rooms, TV corner, and home office. The living spaces in the new section are developed in contrast to the existing house as very light-rich spaces, nestled in the green character of the surrounding garden and vast landscape. The fragile appearance of the extension should underscore the pavilion feel, splitting the walkways into an indoor and outdoor course created by airy canopies acting as sunshades and covered terrace areas. Resulting in the Holiday feeling envisioned by the client.

Thought: An idea to build a place to accommodate destitute and women in need under a shelter will help them to grow and nurture with pride and respect. Accomplishing this thought in a remote village called Loni located north of Bijapur, which is geographically a dry and arid zone. T
