atelier pierre louis gerlier turned a former garage into a bright, sophisticated two bedroom apartment. after several years of living in the apartment, the inhabitants entrusted the atelier with the task of renovating the atypical property. the designers injected soft colors and bold, geometric shapes that transform the small space into a clean and airy residence.
the atelier reduced the circulation spaces to introduce enlarged areas for a more comfortable living environment. the designers added a second bathroom, enlarged the master bedroom and added a custom-made geometric cupboard in the living room. the piece features white doors that are cut through by four massive, candy-colored circles that host shelves, a desk and a cozy round sofa.
the rooms feature mid-century furniture, retro, rounded shapes and pastel colors on the accessories and floors. each space has a different colored floor that fills the room with a warm glow. the colored floor combines and complements the decor in each room, bringing in light into the spaces. other surfaces are covered in mirrors to give the illusion of enlarging the areas.
