The latest edition of our weekly Dezeen Agenda newsletter features an opinion piece by Helen Barrett arguing private assets are prioritised over public access, following the Tate Modern viewing platform rulingSubscribe to Dezeen Agenda now.

The Supreme Court’s ruling in the Tate Modern privacy case is part of a depressing trend towards London’s views becoming increasingly controlled and commoditised, writes Helen Barrett in an opinion piece for Dezeen.

Barrett argues that “the message seems to be that private assets are to be fortified at all costs, even at the expense of everyone else.” She goes on to suggest that “Londoners have come to see vantage points as their birthright”.

“Tate Modern court ruling could mark the beginning of the end for one of London’s greatest joys”

This week’s newsletter also features designs for a car lift that will allow vehicle access directly into each apartment of Bentley’s Miami Beach 61-storey skyscraper, a prototype textile “watching platform” by Samsung and design studio Form Us With Love and a human composting facility in Seattle by American startup Recompose.
