LLDS has re-conceptualised the Victorian terrace typology in response to the existing urban context to create a compact inner-city house in Melbourne, Australia. Sited on a narrow plot orientated east-west, 22m long and 4.6m wide, the main design move was to elevate the ground to form a roof garden to address the lack of garden spaces. The brown roof supports local ecology in an urban context. Below the free-form timber structure is a hall-like room with a kitchen, dining room, and entrance veranda reminiscent of the neighbourhood’s large factory lofts and Victorian church halls. The highly textured concrete internal wall provides thermal mass and improves the dining room’s acoustics by reducing the flutter echo effect caused by the parallel boundary walls.

Conceived as a center for top-level sportsmen and women on a regional scale, this project incorporates a high density of programs and uses, within an arid territory and a loose, poorly defined urban fabric. The architecture is monumental in its design but retains great simplicity in its implementation and in the choice of materials used.

Between the city’s chaos and rural calm, this sustainable retreat invites one to relax from the hectic schedules of daily routine into the natural habitat. The site is situated on the outskirts of Vadodara city, having a site area of 30,000 sqft with 1,500 sqft area built up. Surrounded by lush green open plots, the site context is an opportunity where architecture responds sensitively to nature through a material palette and spatial openness. Sustainability forms the core philosophy for the design, where the material palette plays an important role. Evolving from ecological sensibilities, the ground beams were formed within the cavities of brick walls and RCC slurry poured to bind and strengthen—transforming construction logic into an expressive architectural language of efficiency and craft.

“Staying Together When The Flood Comes”: From the beginning of 2025 to December 2025, Vietnam suffered 17 consecutive storms, leaving 22 out of 34 provinces submerged in floodwaters. When natural disasters are no longer seasonal cycles but permanent threats, the question of how to protect people without forcing them to leave their ancestral lands urged Architect Bui The Long and his colleagues to find an answer. From there, the Floating Prefab House model was born – a dedicated project by CTA | Creative Architects, Nha Xanh, and 5G Construction Solutions.

The new Center for Health in Copenhagen combines plenty of daylight, natural materials, greenery, and room for movement and community to support rehabilitation and treatment of lifestyle-related diseases. Designed by Danish architecture studio Dorte Mandrup, the building features an impressive central space, formed by the sculptural rhythm of 15-meter-high timber arches.

Taking its name from the forest goddess of the Rigveda, one of ancient India’s sacred texts, the Aranyani Pavilion is conceived to deepen public connection to nature and advance urgent conversations around ecology. Aranyani launches one of South Asia’s most ambitious ecological art and architecture pavilions at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi, opening Wednesday, 4th February 2026. Founded by conservation scientist and creative director Tara Lal, Aranyani is a conservation and creative arts initiative dedicated to renewing human connection with the natural world.
