Dongziguan Affordable Housing for Relocalized Farmers / gad

The project tackles a current social issue within the urbanization process in China: the increasing urban-rural disparity. Currently the living conditions in large part of rural China are poor, for instance in Dongziguan Village in Fuyang Hangzhou, most of the farmers still live in the aged housings of disrepair. Local Government in Fuyang District of Hangzhou decided to fund an exemplary affordable housing project in Dongziguan Village aiming at improving living condition for relocalized farmers.

Store Renovation for Lost and Found in Beijing / B.L.U.E. Architecture Studio

This project is a store renovation for the furniture brand “Lost and Found” located in Guozijian  Street, a historic district in Beijing. As nowadays, more and more people tends to live alone, the concept of a traditional family gradually disintegrated, and the city’s public space is  becoming another “home” for people. Under such contexts, the renovation intends to  bring the sense of “home” into the store, and to introduce a new vision for the future commercial space that connects people with urban public space.

Mrs. Fan’s Plugin House / People’s Architecture Office

Mrs. Fan is from a traditional Chinese family. Newlyweds like her are expected to purchase a car and move into a new house in the suburbs to start the next phase of their life. But for people in their early 30’s who wish to be financially independent, the astronomical price of real estate in Beijing makes buying a house on their own nearly impossible.
