DTU B357, Space for knowledge sharing. The test center strengthens the university’s leading position in the research of electromagnetic systems and is the home to students and researchers of DTU Electro Institute. The building houses research facilities, including radio-silent laboratories, meeting facilities, and classrooms. The facility holds a large education laboratory with an affiliated study area. Here, the architecture is designed to facilitate an interdisciplinary research environment among researchers, businesses, and students. The building’s architecture elaborates on the existing built environment of the campus.

Barrera House / Cotton Estes Architect

The Barrera House is a seemingly simple solution to a complex program on a small, downtown property. The 370 sq.m. site is located within a historical district of San Antonio and a stone’s throw from the Tower of the Americas designed by the famous mid-century architect O’Neil Ford. The house is shaped by its context and by the client’s desire to live sustainably and well within a small footprint, nestled within their tight-knit community.

Casa Roy / Taillandier Architectes Associés

Located in the village of Bagergue at an altitude of over fifteen hundred meters, “La casa Roy” is a typical Val d’Aran house. In the confrontation with the Romanesque church, listed as a World Heritage of Humanity Site by Unesco, like all the others in the valley, the project was discussed by several commissions and the public before it could go ahead. The house is set back from the main street, “Calle Major”, creating a small square where the village’s herds could drink. Legend has it that Casa Roy was built on the site of the oldest prehistoric hut in the Val d’Aran.

National Holocaust Museum / Office Winhov

As a singular and emotionally charged location, the National Holocaust Museum presents the history of the persecution of Dutch Jews during World War II. Opened in 2024, the museum is housed in the former teaching school Hervormde Kweekschool. It forms a larger whole with the former theatre Hollandsche Schouwburg across the street.

Noli Otaniemi Hotel / Avarrus Architects

Noli Otaniemi is located in the rapidly growing and developing area of Otaniemi in Espoo. The 15-storey hotel contains 406 studios and is the largest Noli Studios hotel yet built. In accordance with the Noli concept, the hotel is aimed for both short- and long-term accommodation and is designed to enable a sense of community, thus catering to the needs of professionals, researchers, and international talents in the Otaniemi scientific community and the nearby business districts. Located directly next to a stop of the Raide-Jokeri tram line and only half a kilometer away from Aalto University metro station, the hotel is extremely well-connected.

Joséphine Baker Middle School / Panorama Architecture

The middle school, built in 1966 and now renamed after Josephine Baker, just underwent a radical transformation. Replacing an aging building on the same site, the entirely new building provides students and teachers with greatly enriched surroundings and opens a new chapter in the school’s history. The new construction also has the capacity to receive 600 students and possesses an auditorium and a gymnasium.

Apple Store Jing’an / Foster + Partners

Apple Jing’an is a new Apple store and urban regeneration project located in the heart of Shanghai’s Jing’an District. A new circular public plaza has been carefully recreated to enhance connectivity between the historic Jing’an Temple and Jing’an Park, which are located on either side of Nanjing Road. The project knits together the city’s urban fabric with the major metro interchange below to create a new active public space for the city of Shanghai.

House for 2 Architects is the renovation of an apartment from the 19th century in front of the Luxembourg Garden in the Latin quarter of Paris. Because the apartment is on the 5th floor, the views are very impressive and we wanted to highlight that quality. In a dense city like Paris, light is one of the main elements to enhance.
